A sightseeing pass glides past city attractions into a wallet pouch beside a separate transit token

For orders without Wiener Linien season tickets, the Vienna PASS Mobile PASS has an official Add to Apple Wallet button. Open the mobile pass from the purchase email or My Passes, then let Vienna PASS issue the Wallet pass with its unique QR code. A third-party QR recreation is unnecessary and would bypass the provider's intended flow.

This guide shows the official setup, separates adding from activation, and explains how forwarding and group use actually work. It also covers the important transport limit: the Vienna PASS includes Vienna Sightseeing HOP ON HOP OFF buses, not general Wiener Linien travel.

Start with the official Mobile PASS

The official Vienna PASS page shows the Wallet button on its official Mobile PASS page. This mobile delivery is available only for orders without Wiener Linien season tickets. Use the button from the mobile-pass link or My Passes to preserve the issued QR code and holder relationship instead of creating an unofficial copy.

How to add the Vienna PASS to Apple Wallet

For an order without Wiener Linien season tickets, choose mobile delivery during purchase. The email link and My Passes page both lead back to the provider's own pass, so the route remains official from checkout to attraction scan.

1

Choose Mobile PASS delivery

If the order does not include Wiener Linien season tickets, select the one-day, two-day, three-day, or six-day Vienna PASS and choose Mobile PASS as the delivery method. Complete the purchase with an email address you can open on the iPhone.
2

Open the pass or My Passes

Use the link in the confirmation email to open the pass or the My Passes overview. Assign the intended holder and first-use date where the provider asks for them.
3

Tap Add to Apple Wallet

Use the Apple Wallet button shown for that Mobile PASS. Confirm the Wallet preview. The pass now contains the official unique QR code for attraction and bus scans.
4

Keep the Vienna PASS page available

Keep the confirmation email and official pass page until the trip is over. They are the source for forwarding, retrieving, or checking the issued pass.

The official Vienna PASS overview confirms the available durations and that first use at an attraction or HOP ON HOP OFF bus activates the pass.

Adding to Wallet does not activate the pass

The countdown begins only when the unique QR code is scanned for the first time at a participating attraction or a Vienna Sightseeing HOP ON HOP OFF bus. Adding the pass to Apple Wallet, opening My Passes, or setting it up before the trip does not consume a day. The first activation must happen within 12 months of purchase.

One, two, three, or six consecutive calendar days

The Vienna PASS must be activated within 12 months of purchase. After the first qualifying scan, its selected duration runs as consecutive calendar days, so the first scan time matters.

Four duration choices

Choose one, two, three, or six days when buying. The selected duration cannot be split into separate visits weeks apart.

First scan activates

The first scan at an included attraction or HOP ON HOP OFF bus starts the selected run of days. Wallet setup alone does not.

Unique QR code

Each Mobile PASS carries its own issued QR code. Present that code from the official pass rather than recreating it in another app.

Personal and nontransferable

Once assigned to a holder, the Mobile PASS is personal. Staff may ask for photo ID to verify the person presenting it.

Forwarding passes and using one phone for a group

Vienna PASS supports both distributing passes to their intended holders and keeping several passes on one smartphone. These are separate arrangements, and every person still has an individual QR code.

Forward before use

A purchaser can forward a pass to its intended holder. The recipient opens the official link on their own device and uses the pass assigned to them.

Open the browser link once

Vienna PASS says a forwarded mobile-pass link can be displayed in the browser without internet after it has been opened once on that device.

Scan group passes individually

Several passes may remain on one smartphone, but the holder must open and scan each unique pass one at a time. At turnstiles, the phone may need to be handed to the next person.

Offline access applies to the browser link

A forwarded mobile-pass link can be displayed without internet after it has been opened once in that device's browser. This does not guarantee that every Apple Wallet state or retrieval path works offline. Open each recipient link before leaving a reliable connection and keep the original email available.

Forwarding is a delivery step, not a way to share one personalized pass after activation. Each traveler should use the QR code issued for their own pass and carry photo ID in case a partner asks for it.

The provider's terms and conditions apply to the purchased Mobile PASS.

Vienna PASS is not a Wiener Linien ticket

The official Vienna PASS transport page states that the pass is valid as a ticket only on Vienna Sightseeing HOP ON HOP OFF buses. U-Bahn, trams, and regular Wiener Linien buses require a separate public transport ticket or another product that includes transit.

Use NeatPass for separate Vienna trip documents

For eligible orders without Wiener Linien season tickets, the Vienna PASS supplies its own Apple Wallet pass, so do not import or recreate its unique QR code with NeatPass. Use the provider's Mobile PASS for attractions and the sightseeing bus.

NeatPass can organize a separate airport transfer, rail ticket, parking barcode, restaurant voucher, or booking PDF when that document has no official Wallet button. Label those passes clearly, keep the original document available, and keep them distinct from the Vienna PASS.

Organize the Vienna documents that lack a Wallet button

NeatPass makes it easy to convert any ticket, pass, or loyalty card to Apple Wallet.

Keep the whole Vienna trip organized

For the wider setup, read how to keep travel passes in one place. Vienna PASS forwarding is its own official flow; the separate guide to sharing Apple Wallet passes explains Apple's general options. If another booking arrives as a PDF, use the PDF ticket to Apple Wallet guide.

Frequently asked questions

Use the official Vienna PASS from setup to scan

For an eligible order without Wiener Linien season tickets, open the Mobile PASS from the purchase email or My Passes and add it with the official Apple Wallet button. Activate it within 12 months of purchase, then let the first attraction or sightseeing-bus scan start the consecutive calendar days. Forward unneeded passes to their intended holders or scan several individual passes from one phone, keep Wiener Linien tickets separate, and reserve NeatPass for unrelated trip documents without native Wallet support.
