Store Card & Coupon Expiration

Color-coded expiration badges show validity status on store cards and coupons

2 min read

Store cards and coupons in NeatPass display color-coded expiration badges so you can see their validity at a glance. The status is evaluated automatically based on the current date, no manual refresh needed.

Status Badges

Valid

More than 7 days from expiring. A green badge confirms the pass is still valid.

Expiring Soon

Expires within 7 days. A yellow badge alerts you to use the pass before it expires.

Expired

Past the expiration date. A red badge marks the pass as no longer valid.

Expiration date appears on the front of the exported pass in the secondary fields area. Date and time metadata is preserved during export.

Setting an Expiration Date

1

Open your pass

Open a store card or coupon from your library.

2

Tap Edit

Tap Edit to enter editing mode.

3

Find the expiration field

Locate the expiration date field in the pass details.

4

Set date and time

Select a date and optionally a time for the expiration.

5

Save

Tap Save to apply your changes. The status badge updates automatically.

The expiration date can also be automatically extracted from the original ticket during import. If the extraction is incorrect, you can always edit it afterward.

Date and Time Display

If only a date is set (e.g. Mar 15, 2026), the pass is valid through the entire last day. When a specific time is also set, the full date and time are shown (e.g. Mar 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM).

Dates display in your preferred format, configured in Settings.

Expired Passes

Expired passes remain in your library and are not automatically deleted. The red badge makes them easy to identify. You can still view, edit, and export expired passes. If you no longer need them, you can move them to the trash.

Tips

Check the badge color for a quick validity status without reading the date
Expiration dates are preserved when exporting to Apple Wallet
