Does sharing an Apple Wallet pass transfer the ticket?

No. Wallet Share is an issuer-enabled feature, but sharing a pass is separate from the issuer's Transfer flow. Only that flow can change the ticket owner and entry credential.

What barcode does the recipient receive?

The recipient receives the issuer's active ticket or live view after the transfer is accepted or claimed. Ticketmaster explicitly issues a new barcode after acceptance; AXS delivers the ticket through its Mobile ID app and invalidates the original after the transfer completes.

Transfer an Event Ticket to Someone Else: Apple Wallet Guide

Transferring an event ticket is an issuer action, not the same thing as sharing a Wallet pass. The issuer controls the ticket owner and entry credential; some platforms issue the recipient a new barcode and invalidate the sender's credential after acceptance.

Complete the transfer in the ticket issuer's account or app. A Wallet Share option, even when the issuer enables it, is a separate pass-sharing action; it does not by itself transfer ownership, complete the issuer's Transfer flow, or guarantee a new entry credential.

How an official ticket transfer works

The exact labels differ by platform, but issuer-managed transfers commonly follow this sequence:

Start Transfer with the issuer

Open the event in the original ticketing app or website and choose its Transfer action. Do not rely on a Wallet copy as the transfer control.

Enter the recipient

Use the recipient details requested by the issuer. Ticketmaster and AXS may keep the transfer pending until the recipient accepts or claims it.

Recipient accepts

After acceptance, the issuer assigns the ticket to the recipient's account and provides a new barcode or live ticket view.

Sender loses entry access

After a successful transfer, the original owner's credential may be invalidated or removed from the active ticket view. A screenshot or old Wallet pass is not a backup entry ticket.

Wallet Share is not ownership transfer

Apple Wallet only exposes Share when the issuer enables it. Sharing a pass is separate from an issuer Transfer flow; it does not by itself change the order account, issue a new entry credential, or promise that both copies remain valid.

Credential and venue rules still apply

A Wallet pass displays ticket data; it is not proof of ownership or permission to enter. Follow the issuer's transfer, resale, identity, and venue rules. Use only the active credential assigned to you, and keep the original order details for support.

Ticketmaster, AXS, and official resale

Ticketmaster keeps a transfer pending until the recipient accepts it, then issues a new barcode and invalidates the sender's ticket. AXS sends the recipient a link to get the ticket and says the original Mobile ID is no longer valid after the transfer completes. Treat the recipient's active issuer view as the source of truth.

If the transferred ticket is not in Wallet

A missing pass after transfer is usually an issuer or order-state question. Check the account and transfer status before trying to repair a stale pass.

If the issuer confirms that the recipient has a current static source, import that source into NeatPass and add the resulting pass to Wallet. If the issuer has not delivered the ticket, contact the issuer or marketplace; a Wallet copy cannot create a missing credential.
