There is now an official way to add a valid Juleica to Apple Wallet. Use the official Juleica Wallet option because it provides the digital copy intended by the Juleica system.

That convenience has a clear limit: the Wallet pass is optional and does not replace the physical Juleica. Keep the card with you because acceptance of the digital copy alone is not guaranteed nationwide.

What the official Juleica Wallet pass is

DBJR announced the official Wallet option on 11 September 2025. Its Juleica Wallet notice describes the pass as a digital image of a valid card and says the physical card continues to be issued.

Official issuer pass

A valid Juleica can be loaded into Apple Wallet through the official Juleica Wallet option.

Digital copy

The pass displays a digital image of the card. It can include the holder's photo where the regional setup allows it.

Physical card remains

The Wallet version is voluntary and additional. A physical Juleica is still issued and should remain available.

The launch notice described a test phase

DBJR initially described the following months as a test phase and noted that the option could change. For the current route, follow the instructions from the office that issued your Juleica.

Digital-only acceptance is not guaranteed

DBJR says there are no binding rules for recognition of the digital card. This matters especially where the Juleica also functions as an Ehrenamtskarte. Carry the physical card when you need to prove the credential or claim a benefit.

How to add the official Juleica pass

Start with the official Juleica Wallet option, then follow Apple's standard add flow on the iPhone:

Open the official Juleica profile to access your digital Juleica and its Wallet option.

1

Check that your Juleica is valid

The Wallet offer is for holders of a valid Juleica. If your card has expired, start with the responsible local issuer and renew it before relying on a digital copy.
2

Use the official Juleica Wallet option

Open the official Wallet option provided for your valid Juleica. Follow the current guidance from the office that issued your card.
3

Tap Add to Apple Wallet

Review the official pass in Apple's add screen and follow the instructions shown on the iPhone. Tap Add in the top-right corner to confirm.
4

Compare the pass and keep the card

Check that the name, validity, and visible card details match your Juleica. Then keep the physical card available because the Wallet copy is not guaranteed to be accepted by itself.

Apple's official Wallet instructions explain the generic add flow after an organization provides a Wallet pass. The NeatPass guide to adding a pass to Wallet covers the final iPhone steps in more detail.

Official Wallet option unavailable?

Follow the current guidance from the office that issued your Juleica or contact that office. Once the official pass is available, the Wallet troubleshooting steps can help if Apple's generic add flow fails.

Which rules apply to the pass

The official national Juleica rules describe the Juleica as the nationwide official card for volunteer youth leaders. It serves as proof of the holder's role and can provide access to benefits. A card is valid for no more than three years.

Those rules define the Juleica as a credential. Whether an organization accepts the Wallet image remains specific to that organization. DBJR explicitly describes the digital version as an additional copy without binding recognition rules.

The Apple Wallet pass can show the personal photo. Where a state combines the Juleica with an Ehrenamtskarte, DBJR says the Ehrenamtskarte logo replaces the photo. This is expected behavior, not evidence that the pass belongs to someone else.

Use NeatPass while official access is pending

Use the official Juleica Wallet option for this credential. If you already hold a valid Juleica but do not yet have access to its official Wallet pass, NeatPass can keep a separate convenience copy from a current card image or static barcode that you are allowed to store. It is not the official pass and may not be accepted on its own, so keep the physical card and follow local rules.

For the import itself, see the NeatPass import-methods guide for a permitted current source.

Keep the official credential available

The official Juleica Wallet pass is an optional digital copy. It is not a nationwide digital-only acceptance guarantee and it does not remove the need to follow local rules for identification, benefits, or an Ehrenamtskarte.

Carry the physical Juleica when acceptance matters. A third-party pass, screenshot, photo, or recreated barcode is not the official Juleica Wallet pass and should not be presented as one.

Frequently asked questions

Use the official pass and keep the card

The Juleica Wallet option is useful for quick access, but its role is precise: it is an official digital copy alongside the physical card. Use the official option, verify the details, and take the physical Juleica when acceptance matters.
