Petco Vital Care in Apple Wallet: Petco Perks Explained

Petco's current sources do not document a native Wallet export for Petco Perks. Learn why a member number is not a barcode and when a static code could work.

A pet-store rewards card verifies a stable barcode before entering a wallet pouch

Petco's old Vital Care search term now points to Petco Perks. At in-store checkout, Petco identifies the account with a phone number or associated email. Petco does not currently document an Apple Wallet export or a barcode pass, so a member number alone is not something to convert.

Vital Care is now Petco Perks

Petco's current program page and terms describe Petco Perks, the account-based loyalty program that replaced the Vital Care name in current customer materials. The Petco app and website hold the account, membership benefits, and service information.

At in-store checkout, Petco uses the phone number or email associated with the account. Petco does not currently document a native Add to Apple Wallet flow or a stable barcode export. A member number by itself is not a barcode, so copying it into a Wallet pass would not give the cashier a scannable credential.

Current name: Petco Perks

The old Vital Care query is useful for discovery, but current official customer materials use Petco Perks.

Account-based benefits

Membership and service information remain connected to the Petco account in the app or on the website.

Phone or email lookup at checkout

Petco's checkout flow identifies the account with the associated phone number or email.

No documented Wallet export

Petco Perks has no currently documented native Apple Wallet pass or stable barcode export.

Use NeatPass when Petco supplies a barcode

If you only have a Petco Perks account number or service details, use Petco's account, phone, or email lookup. Continue with NeatPass only when Petco supplies a genuine, stable barcode that a scanner can read.

The narrow case for NeatPass

When Petco supplies a genuine, complete, stable barcode, NeatPass keeps that checkout identifier ready in a personal Apple Wallet pass while Petco continues to manage the account.

When a barcode is genuinely visible, verify its format with the supported barcode list and choose a suitable import method. If Petco does not supply a barcode, stop and use Petco's official lookup.

Create a conditional Petco pass

1

Look for a stable barcode

Continue only if Petco supplies a genuine, complete barcode that stays the same while you view it. Without that Petco-supplied source, use the official account, phone, or email lookup.
2

Import the source

Use NeatPass's camera, photo, file, or share import and confirm the detected barcode. Never type an account number into a barcode field.
3

Label the pass clearly

Use a name such as Petco Perks so the pass is easy to distinguish from other cards.
4

Test and keep the official fallback

Add the pass to Apple Wallet and test it at a store before relying on it. Keep the Petco app, website, and phone or email lookup for benefits and account actions.

What Petco keeps in its account

The source identifier stays intact

NeatPass preserves a genuine barcode rather than inventing a Petco Perks credential.

Fast local access

A saved static pass can be opened on the iPhone without waiting for the Petco app to load.

Petco account features stay in Petco

Petco Cash, benefits, Premier details, grooming, veterinary, and pet profiles continue in the Petco account while the pass handles the barcode.

Account lookup still works

When no barcode exists, the phone, email, or account lookup remains the correct Petco path at checkout.

Use the right Petco identifier

For most Petco Perks members, the official app, website, and phone or email lookup are the documented options. NeatPass is relevant only when Petco actually provides a static barcode that a scanner can read.

Keep a source copy with the original-document guide so a personal pass can be rebuilt without guessing at an account number.
