Eurowings, Condor, ITA: Boarding Pass in Apple Wallet

How Eurowings, Condor, and ITA Airways add boarding passes to Apple Wallet. App flows, Condor's email-link quirk, loyalty changes, and the PDF fallback.

Three friendly boarding pass cards with cute kawaii faces representing Eurowings, Condor, and ITA Airways lining up at a cozy Apple Wallet home with a small airplane in the sky

Eurowings, Condor, and ITA Airways all let an iPhone hold the boarding pass in Apple Wallet. The flows differ: Eurowings hands the pass over inside its app right after check-in, Condor often routes the Wallet pass through an email link, and ITA Airways adds the pass directly from its app once check-in is done.

This guide walks through the native flow for each carrier, flags where the policies and loyalty programs differ, and covers the PDF fallback for bookings that arrive without an Add to Apple Wallet button.

Eurowings Boarding Passes in Apple Wallet

The Eurowings iOS app generates the mobile boarding pass after online check-in and shows an Add to Apple Wallet button next to it. Eurowings belongs to the Lufthansa Group, and the Eurowings Bonus program plus Miles & More handle frequent flyer credit on its flights.

Settle add-ons before the Wallet button appears

Eurowings is a low-cost carrier, so any pending bag or seat add-ons are settled during check-in before the boarding pass is issued. Once check-in is complete, the Add to Apple Wallet option becomes available next to the mobile boarding pass in the app.

The native Add to Apple Wallet flow inside the Eurowings app is the cleanest path for most travelers.

1

Install the Eurowings app

Download Eurowings from the App Store and open the booking with the reservation code and last name, or sign in with the Eurowings Bonus or Miles & More account that holds the trip.
2

Complete online check-in

Online check-in opens from a set window before departure. Finish any pending bag or seat add-ons, confirm passenger details, and the mobile boarding pass appears in the app.
3

Tap Add to Apple Wallet

On the boarding pass screen, tap Add to Apple Wallet. iOS opens Wallet with a preview. Tap Add in the top-right corner to store it.
4

Repeat for each passenger

Multi-passenger bookings need one Add to Apple Wallet tap per traveler from each passenger's own boarding pass screen. AirDrop or iMessage works for sending passes to other phones.

Condor Boarding Passes in Apple Wallet

Condor has been an independent leisure airline since the Attestor investment in 2021, separate from the Lufthansa Group. The Condor app and condor.com both create a mobile boarding pass after online check-in, which runs from 24 hours up to 1 hour before departure.

1

Check in via the app or website

Open the Condor app or condor.com and complete online check-in with the booking code and last name. Check-in is available from 24 hours up to 1 hour before departure, though times can vary by airport.
2

Open the boarding pass

After check-in, the mobile boarding pass is shown in the app and emailed to the address on the booking. The barcode the gate scans sits on this pass.
3

Add to Apple Wallet

Tap Add to Apple Wallet on the boarding pass screen if the button appears. Condor also includes a Wallet link in the confirmation email, so opening that link on the iPhone adds the pass to Wallet when the in-app button does not.
4

Confirm the pass landed in Wallet

Open Apple Wallet and check the pass shows the right flight, seat, and barcode. Once it is in Wallet it works offline, so no signal is needed at the gate.

Some airports cannot issue a mobile boarding pass

For technical reasons, a handful of Condor airports do not issue mobile boarding passes after online check-in, including Hurghada, Agadir, Cancun, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Yerevan, Mombasa, Haikou, and Sanya. Passengers departing those airports print the pass or collect it at the airport counter, so an Apple Wallet pass is not an option on those routes.

ITA Airways Boarding Passes in Apple Wallet

The ITA Airways iOS app supports check-in by reservation code or ticket number and saves the boarding pass to Apple Wallet, or shares it by email or SMS. The Lufthansa Group took a 41 percent stake in ITA Airways in January 2025 and exercised its option for a 90 percent majority in June 2026, with that step expected to close in early 2027.

1

Install the ITA Airways app

Download ITA Airways from the App Store. Check-in works with the reservation code (PNR) or ticket number, so an account is not required to reach the boarding pass.
2

Check in inside the app

Open the trip, complete online check-in, pick a seat, and confirm passport details where required. The mobile boarding pass appears once check-in is approved.
3

Save to Apple Wallet

On the boarding pass screen, tap the option to save the pass to Apple Wallet. The pass is signed by ITA Airways and opens in Wallet with a preview before being added.
4

Note the loyalty change

ITA Airways left SkyTeam in 2025 and joined Star Alliance on 1 April 2026, retiring the Volare program in favor of Lufthansa's Miles & More. Frequent flyer credit on new flights now runs through Miles & More.

Once added, the pass surfaces through a lock screen widget as departure or boarding approaches, which puts the barcode a double-tap away without opening any app.

What All Three Wallet Passes Carry

Across Eurowings, Condor, and ITA Airways, the Wallet pass holds the same information airport scanners need.

Flight and seat details

Flight number, route, departure time, gate, seat, and boarding group where assigned

Standard 2D barcode

IATA-format Aztec or QR barcode that matches the airline's printed boarding pass for the same booking

Passenger and frequent flyer reference

Name as booked, plus the Eurowings Bonus, Miles & More, or other loyalty number when linked to the booking

Boarding group and class

Cabin and boarding group as assigned by the airline, the same indicator a printed pass would carry

Where the Three Carriers Differ

The mobile pass works similarly across all three airlines, but a few practical differences matter at the airport.

Mobile boarding pass accepted
  • Eurowings flights once add-ons are settled and the app issues the mobile boarding pass
  • Condor flights from airports that support mobile boarding passes after online check-in
  • ITA Airways flights where the app boarding pass is enabled, with Star Alliance partner benefits from April 2026
  • Codeshare and partner-operated flights where the operating airline accepts mobile passes
May still need a printed pass
  • Condor departures from Hurghada, Agadir, Cancun, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Yerevan, Mombasa, Haikou, and Sanya, where mobile passes are not issued
  • Some non-hub airports for any of the three carriers that have not enabled mobile pass scanning
  • Last-minute changes that require an agent to re-issue the boarding pass at the airport desk
  • Codeshare segments where the partner airline issues the pass in a different format

Backup the pass before the airport

Phones run out of battery, apps crash, and a few non-hub gates still struggle with dim screens. A screenshot of the boarding pass, kept in the photo library, removes a stress point. Apple Wallet itself works offline once the pass is added, so airplane mode at the gate is not the issue.

When Only a PDF Arrives in the Inbox

Bookings made through corporate travel tools, online travel agents, or third-party portals sometimes drop the airline's Wallet handover and just send a PDF e-ticket or a check-in confirmation with the boarding pass attached.

The barcode on that PDF is the same Aztec or QR code the gate scans. A pass app like NeatPass reads the barcode from a PDF or screenshot and creates a native Wallet pass with identical barcode data.

1

Save the PDF on the iPhone

Open the airline email and save the boarding pass PDF, or screenshot the page that shows the barcode. Make sure no edge of the barcode is cropped.
2

Open NeatPass and import

Open NeatPass, tap the plus button, and pick the PDF or screenshot from the photo library or Files. On-device AI detects the barcode and reads flight details where it can.
3

Review the details

Check that flight number, route, seat, and passenger name match the original boarding pass. Adjust any field that needs fixing.
4

Add to Wallet

Tap Add to Apple Wallet. The new pass opens in Wallet and is double-tap accessible from the lock screen, with the same barcode the airline pass carries.

NeatPass works with every supported barcode format and offers several import methods, so even unusual e-ticket formats can land in Wallet.

When the Pass Does Not Behave

A few patterns repeat across all three carriers and are worth knowing in advance.

  • No Add to Apple Wallet button - The booking may have come through a third-party channel, or Condor may only offer the Wallet link by email; the PDF fallback above covers this case
  • Pass not on the Lock Screen - Wallet may surface the pass as departure or boarding approaches; outside that context, open Wallet directly
  • Seat or gate change after adding the pass - Re-open the booking in the airline app, grab the updated boarding pass, and add it again; delete the older Wallet version to keep things tidy
  • Multiple passengers missing - Each traveler needs their own Add to Apple Wallet tap from their own boarding pass screen, or the pass can be shared via AirDrop

Once added, the pass works in airplane mode and on weak networks, which matters in busy terminals where airport WiFi rarely cooperates.

Three Carriers, One Wallet Pass Format

Across Eurowings, Condor, and ITA Airways, the destination is the same: check in, get the pass into Apple Wallet, and the barcode lands on the lock screen ready to scan. Eurowings and ITA hand it over in the app, Condor sometimes routes it through an email link, and where a booking dodges the native flow, a PDF screenshot and a pass app close the gap.
