TUI fly is a leisure and charter airline, so its tickets reach travellers in two very different ways. Direct flight bookings behave like any modern airline, while package holidays often arrive as a tour-operator PDF emailed for printing.
The good news is that TUI fly does support Apple Wallet. After online check-in, the mobile boarding pass offers an Add to Apple Wallet button, and TUI even ships a .pkpass file. The tricky case is the package-holiday PDF that never shows that button, which is where the workaround comes in.
Check-In in the TUI App or on the Website
The most reliable path is online check-in through the TUI app or the TUI website. Online check-in opens 14 days before departure when a seat is reserved, and otherwise from 48 hours up to 1 hour before the flight.
Open the TUI app and find the flight
Complete online check-in
Tap Add to Apple Wallet under the QR code
Find the pass in Wallet
The exact mechanic of how iOS accepts the pass file is covered in the adding to Wallet guide.

The Package-Holiday PDF Reality
Many TUI package holidays are booked as a bundle, and the flight portion is handled by the tour operator. In that setup, the boarding documents often arrive as a plain PDF attached to an email, sent for printing, with no Add to Apple Wallet button anywhere on the page.
This is not a fault with Apple Wallet. A PDF is just a document, so there is no PassKit pass to add. The fix is to either pull the flight into the TUI check-in flow first, or convert the PDF barcode into a Wallet pass directly.
Try the TUI website before anything else
Convert a PDF Boarding Pass to Wallet
When a TUI package-holiday PDF never offers a Wallet button and check-in cannot be reopened, the barcode on the PDF still carries everything a gate scanner needs. It can be turned into a proper Wallet pass.
NeatPass reads the barcode from a screenshot of the PDF and builds an Apple Wallet pass from it, entirely on the iPhone, with no account and no cloud upload.
Convert a TUI fly PDF boarding pass
NeatPass makes it easy to convert any ticket, pass, or loyalty card to Apple Wallet.
Open the PDF and screenshot the barcode
Import the screenshot into NeatPass
Review and add to Apple Wallet
Keep the original PDF on hand
TUI boarding passes use Aztec or PDF417 barcodes, and both appear in the list of supported barcode formats . The on-device reading step is documented under barcode auto-fill.
Why the Wallet Pass Is Worth It
Compared with hunting for a PDF in a holiday email at a busy charter gate, a Wallet boarding pass is a real quality of life upgrade.
Side-button access
Double-tap the side button at security and the pass is on screen, already brightened for the scanner
Works in airplane mode
No signal at a remote stand or in the jet bridge is no problem, the pass is stored locally on the iPhone
Apple Watch mirror
The same pass is already on the Watch, ready for hands-free boarding when the phone is packed away
Holiday-day context
On the day of the flight, the pass surfaces as a suggestion on the lock screen as departure approaches
All of this happens without a network connection, which is why the offline mode design of Wallet matters so much for travel.
For a PDF received in a holiday email opened on an iPad or Mac, the Share Extension hands the file straight into NeatPass for the same one-tap Wallet flow.
Apple Watch and the iOS 26 Question
Any boarding pass added to Wallet on the iPhone syncs to a paired Apple Watch, with the barcode and flight details on the Watch face. On the day of travel, the pass also surfaces on the iPhone lock screen as departure approaches, alongside related lock screen widgets.
- Barcode auto-brightens when shown on the Watch
- Gate, seat and flight details are visible at a glance
- Works fully offline, no phone needed nearby
- Scans on gate readers like any PassKit pass
- Live carriers so far are American, United, Southwest and Air Canada
- Lufthansa Group and several others are announced but not yet live
- As of June 2026, TUI fly is not on Apple's supported list
- The standard Wallet pass still works fully for scanning and offline access

Common Issues and Fixes
A few situations come up often enough to keep a short checklist handy:
- Wallet button missing - Online check-in was not finished, or the flight is part of a package PDF. Retrieve the flight on the TUI website and check in first.
- Only a PDF, no .pkpass - Tour-operator package bookings often skip the Wallet pass. Reopen check-in on the TUI website, or convert the PDF barcode instead.
- Watch pass missing - Ensure Wallet syncing is on in the Watch app under My Watch, Wallet and Apple Pay. A new pass can take a few seconds to appear.
- Several passengers, one phone - Add each boarding pass separately. TUI can issue one Wallet pass per passenger on the booking.

For a direct TUI fly booking, the native flow is the fastest route: check in, tap Add to Apple Wallet, done. For a package-holiday PDF that never offered a Wallet button, the barcode-to-pass workflow fills the gap so every flight can be boarded with a double-tap.
