DeutschlandCard has no native Apple Wallet pass. The German multi-partner loyalty program, operated by the Bertelsmann subsidiary DeutschlandCard GmbH, keeps the digital card locked inside its official app, behind a login. There is a workaround: scan the barcode from the physical DeutschlandCard into a clean Apple Wallet pass with NeatPass.
Why the DeutschlandCard App Slows You Down at Checkout
The official DeutschlandCard app is the only place the digital card lives. To reach the barcode, you sign in with your 10-digit card number or email plus password. The in-app barcode does work offline once it has loaded, but getting there still takes effort.
Common frustrations with the DeutschlandCard app at checkout:
Login required
The digital card sits behind a 10-digit card number or email and password sign-in
Slower than a barcode-only pass
Open the app, wait for it to load, and navigate to the card before you can scan
Another app at the register
DeutschlandCard becomes one more screen to find while you are already paying
No native Wallet option
No official Apple Wallet export exists, so the barcode stays trapped in the app
The good news: the physical DeutschlandCard still has a scannable barcode. If you have that barcode, you can use it as the source for a personal Apple Wallet pass.
What's Happening to DeutschlandCard
Bertelsmann is winding down DeutschlandCard, with operations ending by November 30, 2026 at the latest. The trigger was EDEKA, along with Netto, Marktkauf, and trinkgut, leaving the program for Payback around the end of 2024 and February 2025, which removed its largest grocery partners.
Existing points remain valid at least until December 31, 2027, but partners keep dropping off during the wind-down. The remaining 2026 partners include Esso, Hammer, select pharmacies, and more than 450 online shops such as OTTO, Tchibo, eBay, zooplus, and TUI.

How to Add DeutschlandCard to Apple Wallet
The practical workaround is to scan the barcode on the physical DeutschlandCard. The same barcode data that the register reads from the plastic card can live in an Apple Wallet pass, with no login and no app in the way.
NeatPass uses on-device AI to read the barcode from your card and build a native Apple Wallet pass. It can store the original card image alongside the pass, so the front of your DeutschlandCard stays with the barcode for reference. The pass needs no account and works offline once added.
