How to Add Your Nectar Loyalty Card to Apple Wallet

The Nectar app can add a basic card to Apple Wallet, but it shows no points. Here is how to build a cleaner standalone Nectar pass with NeatPass instead.

A friendly loyalty card with a small barcode face leaving a plain gray card behind and settling into a welcoming Apple Wallet home with an emerald glow

The Nectar app can add a card to Apple Wallet from the QR code on the home screen. The pass it creates is basic: a plain card with your name, Nectar number, and a barcode, and no points balance. If you want a cleaner pass you control, or you would rather not open the Nectar app just to reach the barcode, you can build your own.

Nectar points are earned when the till scans your card number, and that number is the same whether it comes from plastic, the Nectar app, or a Wallet pass. This guide covers the official option, what it leaves out, and how to make a standalone pass with NeatPass.

What the Official Nectar Pass Leaves Out

The Nectar app pass is fine for scanning, but it is deliberately minimal. Knowing its limits helps you decide whether a standalone pass is worth building.

No points tracker

The Wallet pass shows only the barcode. Your points balance stays inside the Nectar app.

Fixed appearance

The official pass is a plain card. You cannot rename or restyle it to match how you organize Wallet.

App needed to generate

You have to open the Nectar app and find the QR code before you can add the pass at all.

Offers stay in the app

Personalised bonus offers and eCoupons still live in the Nectar app, not in the Wallet pass.

Build a cleaner Nectar pass you fully control

NeatPass makes it easy to convert any ticket, pass, or loyalty card to Apple Wallet.

Make a Standalone Nectar Pass with NeatPass

NeatPass reads your Nectar barcode and turns it into a normal Apple Wallet pass that you can name, style, and keep offline. The card data stays identical, so the till reads it the same way.

1

Scan your Nectar barcode

Point the camera at the barcode on your plastic Nectar card, or scan a screenshot of the QR code from the Nectar app home screen.
2

Confirm the card data

NeatPass detects the format automatically and preserves the exact Nectar number so nothing changes at the scanner.
3

Name and style it

Rename the pass and pick a color so it is easy to spot among your other cards.
4

Add it to Apple Wallet

Save the finished pass to Wallet, ready at the checkout without opening any app.

NeatPass handles the barcode formats loyalty cards use, offers several import methods, and lets you tweak the look through pass customization.

Keep the Nectar app for points

Your points balance, bonus offers, and eCoupons only work inside the Nectar app. The Wallet pass is the quick barcode at the till, not a replacement for the app.

What You Get in Wallet

One tap at checkout

Double-click and the barcode is ready. No app launch, no scrolling to the QR screen.

Works offline

The barcode lives on your iPhone, so a poor signal in the shop never blocks you.

Same card number

The pass holds the same Nectar number as your card, so points are collected as usual.

Lock screen access

Pin it to a widget and reach the barcode before you even open Wallet.

Add the pass to a lock screen widget, rely on offline mode in-store, and see how your data is handled in the privacy FAQ.

Quick Access at Checkout

Nectar does put a card in Wallet, but it is a bare-bones one that still leans on the app. A standalone pass gives you the barcode on your own terms: named the way you want, styled to match your library, and ready offline the moment you reach the till.
