A gift-card image becoming a smiling green Wallet pass

A gift card saved as a screenshot is easy to lose in your photo library. At checkout, finding the right image can take longer than using the card. A Wallet pass keeps its barcode in one predictable place.

If the retailer does not offer its own Wallet pass, NeatPass can turn your gift-card screenshot into one. Import the image, check the card details, and add it to Apple Wallet.

Make a gift card you can find in Wallet

NeatPass reads the barcode from your gift-card image and creates a Wallet pass around it. Before adding the pass, you can review its details and choose a name and design that make sense to you. That is particularly useful when your Photos library contains several similar gift-card screenshots.

A title such as “Bookshop birthday gift” is easier to recognize than an unnamed image. For two cards from the same retailer, add the occasion or another distinguishing detail to each title. You can also choose different pass colors in NeatPass so the cards are easy to tell apart without opening every one.

Start with a clear gift-card image

Use the screenshot, photo, or email that contains the complete redemption barcode. Leave some space around the code so the app can read it. Check the supported barcode formats if you are unsure which code to use.

Use the current redemption code

This works for a barcode that stays the same. If the retailer displays a changing code or requires redemption inside its app, follow that flow. Check the remaining balance with the retailer; importing a screenshot does not connect the pass to balance updates.

Turn the screenshot into a Wallet pass

1

Import the gift card

Select the screenshot from your photo library in NeatPass, or share the image to NeatPass from another app.
2

Review the details

Check the detected barcode and give the card a recognizable name. If you have several gift cards from the same store, add a useful detail to distinguish them.
3

Add to Wallet

Review the preview, tap Add to Wallet, and confirm. You need a brief internet connection when adding the pass; afterwards its barcode is available offline.

See import methods for photos and files, the Share Extension for images in other apps, and adding to Wallet for the final confirmation.

Find your gift card at checkout

Open the pass in Wallet and show its barcode to the cashier. NeatPass preserves the barcode data from the source, so a compatible scanner reads the same value. Give the card a clear name and customize its design to make it easy to spot.

Your gift-card image is processed on your iPhone, and NeatPass keeps the original with the pass. Use View Original when you need the full details. The privacy policy explains how your data is handled.

Choose the barcode used for redemption

Gift-card emails can contain a redemption barcode alongside links, order references and promotional QR codes. Use the part intended for paying with the card. If the email has a PDF attachment, open and share that file with NeatPass; if the card is an image, use the image at its original size.

After import, compare the card number and other detected details with the original. Keep any PIN or separate redemption instructions available for the cashier or online checkout. The saved original in NeatPass is useful here: it lets you reach the full card document even when the Wallet pass shows only the details you chose.

Add your gift card to Wallet

Import your gift-card screenshot and keep its barcode close at hand for checkout.
