dm has two flavours of digital customer card depending on the country, and neither offers a native Add to Apple Wallet button. In Austria the loyalty programme is called dm Active Beauty and lives in the dm Active Beauty (PAYBACK) app. In Germany the dm card runs on PAYBACK and appears inside the Mein dm app and the PAYBACK app. Both produce a barcode that the till at dm can scan, but neither places that barcode in Apple Wallet for you.
The result is the same checkout choreography every visit: open the app, wait for it to load, find the loyalty card, hand the phone to the cashier. The fix is a personal Wallet pass built from the same barcode.
Why the dm Card Is Stuck Inside the App
The Mein dm and dm Active Beauty apps render the loyalty barcode on a dedicated card screen. Around that barcode the apps add coupons, point balances, PAYBACK account features, dm Foto ordering, and app-only offers. The dynamic pieces are the reason the apps exist. The barcode itself is the same number printed on the physical plastic card.
App-only loyalty screen
The dm customer card is rendered inside the app. There is no Add to Wallet shortcut on that screen.
Country-specific apps
Austria uses dm Active Beauty (PAYBACK), Germany uses Mein dm plus PAYBACK. The barcode lives in different places.
Account login at every reinstall
Reinstalling the app means email plus password before the loyalty card appears again.
Slow inside the store
City-centre dm branches are exactly where mobile signal often drops, right when the queue is moving.

dm loyalty barcode in Apple Wallet, ready at checkout
NeatPass makes it easy to convert any ticket, pass, or loyalty card to Apple Wallet.
The Workaround in Three Steps
The trick is to capture the dm loyalty barcode once and turn it into a Wallet pass that opens straight from the lock screen. NeatPass handles the conversion on device, so the customer number does not travel through anyone else's server.
Open the dm card screen
Capture the barcode
Import into NeatPass and add to Wallet
The pass uses the same barcode format as the source, so a checkout scanner that reads the dm app reads the Wallet pass too. NeatPass also keeps the original screenshot inside the pass for later reference. More import options are documented in the import methods guide.

What the Wallet Pass Adds to a dm Trip
One tap from the lock screen
Wake the iPhone, tap the Wallet card, the barcode is on screen. No login, no spinner, no app launch.
Works offline
The barcode is stored locally on the device, so a flaky in-store signal does not delay the checkout.
Auto brightness
Apple Wallet bumps the screen brightness for the scanner automatically, even on a small dm checkout monitor.
Apple Watch ready
The pass syncs to Apple Watch. A wrist tap at the till works when the phone is in the bag.
Backup if the app is logged out
When Mein dm or PAYBACK forces a re-login, the loyalty barcode is still in Wallet and ready to scan.
Lock screen widget
Pin the pass to the lock screen with a Wallet widget for the fastest possible access at checkout.
For widget setup see lock screen widgets. Privacy details, including what stays on the device, are in the privacy FAQ.
The Honest Caveats
A Wallet pass is not a full replacement for the dm apps. Two things stay app-only:
- Coupons and Active Beauty offers are activated and tracked inside the dm or PAYBACK app. The Wallet pass only carries the loyalty barcode, so any coupons need to be tapped active in the app before checkout.
- Point balance and history live inside the Active Beauty / PAYBACK account. The Wallet pass shows the barcode, not the live balance.
In other words, the Wallet pass speeds up the moment of scanning. Anything before or after, points, coupons, PAYBACK account features, and offers still happens in the official apps.

DownloadThe Drogerie Card on the Lock Screen
The dm loyalty card is a barcode the same way most German and Austrian loyalty cards are barcodes. The fancy parts of the programme (coupons, offers, PAYBACK account features) belong in the app, but the part that holds up the queue does not. Pulling the barcode into Apple Wallet keeps the rest of the dm experience intact and removes the worst part of the visit.
The full Wallet flow is documented in the adding to wallet guide.
