Lidl Plus does not officially support Apple Wallet. The loyalty card lives inside the Lidl Plus app and there is no Add to Apple Wallet button on the customer card screen. At the checkout this means opening the app, waiting for it to load, finding the loyalty card, then handing the phone to the cashier.
The good news: the loyalty barcode itself is just a barcode. It can be turned into a personal Apple Wallet pass with a third-party tool, ready in one tap from the lock screen. The catch is that coupons still have to be activated inside the Lidl Plus app before each visit, otherwise the discount does not apply.
Why Lidl Plus Lives Inside the App
Lidl Plus does a few things at once: a loyalty barcode, weekly coupons, scratch-and-win games, digital receipts, and in some countries Lidl Pay. The loyalty number is the easy part. The rest is dynamic data the app fetches from Lidl servers, which makes a static Wallet pass an awkward fit.
App-only loyalty barcode
The Lidl Plus card is a barcode rendered inside the app. There is no Add to Wallet button on that screen.
Coupons need activation
Each coupon must be tapped active inside the app before checkout, even with a wallet pass.
Login at every reinstall
After a fresh install the app wants email plus PIN before the loyalty card appears again.
Slow without signal
Stores in basements or rural areas are exactly the spots where the app takes long to load.
The barcode itself is identical from one visit to the next. That makes it a perfect candidate for a Wallet pass that appears on the lock screen the moment the phone is raised at the till. For more background, see loyalty cards Apple Wallet does not support natively.
Lidl Plus barcode in Apple Wallet, ready at checkout
NeatPass makes it easy to convert any ticket, pass, or loyalty card to Apple Wallet.
The Workaround in Three Steps
The Lidl Plus barcode can be captured once and turned into a Wallet pass that opens straight from the iPhone lock screen. NeatPass handles the conversion entirely on device, so the loyalty number stays on the iPhone instead of travelling through someone else's server.
Open the Lidl Plus card screen
Capture the barcode
Import into NeatPass and add to Wallet
The pass uses the original barcode format from the screenshot, so a scanner that reads the Lidl Plus app reads the same data from Wallet. NeatPass also keeps the original screenshot inside the pass for reference. More import paths are listed in the six import methods.

What the Wallet Pass Buys You
One tap from the lock screen
Wake the phone, tap the Wallet card, the barcode is on screen. No login, no spinner, no app launch.
Works offline
The pass shows the same barcode whether or not the phone has signal. Essential in basement-level shops.
Auto brightness
Apple Wallet automatically increases the screen brightness for the scanner, even on a dim Lidl checkout monitor.
Apple Watch ready
The pass syncs to Apple Watch, so a tap on the wrist works at checkout when the phone is in another pocket.
Backup if the app fails
When the Lidl Plus app crashes, refuses to log in, or says No connection, the loyalty barcode is still in Wallet.
Lock screen widget
Pin the pass to the lock screen with a Wallet widget for the fastest possible access at checkout.

Coupons: The Honest Caveat
A Wallet pass cannot replace the coupon flow. Lidl Plus coupons are activated inside the app, then the activation lives on the loyalty account. At the till the cashier scans the loyalty barcode and the active coupons are applied automatically. If the coupons were not tapped in the app first, no discount is applied, regardless of whether the barcode came from the app or from Wallet.
The realistic workflow looks like this: open the Lidl Plus app on the way to the till, sweep through the coupon list and activate everything relevant, lock the phone, then show the Wallet pass when it is your turn. The barcode tap is fast, the coupon tap remains an app-only chore.

DownloadThe Loyalty Card on the Lock Screen
Lidl is not the only loyalty programme that skips Apple Wallet. The pattern repeats: an app that loads slowly, a barcode that does the actual work, and a checkout queue that gets longer while the spinner spins. Pulling the barcode into Wallet does not break anything inside the Lidl Plus app, it simply moves the busiest second of the visit out of the app and onto the lock screen.
For a deeper look at how to add the loyalty barcode pass, the adding to wallet guide walks through the full flow.
