If Remove Pass is missing in Apple Wallet, the pass may be hidden, expired, a Home Key, or managed elsewhere. Here is what to check and how to fix it.

A Wallet pass with a missing remove button, a hidden expired stack, and a Home app icon nearby

If Remove Pass is missing in Apple Wallet, the pass may be expired, hidden, or handled by a different app or device flow.

Apple's current support docs say most passes can be removed from Pass Details, some expired passes are automatically hidden, and Home Key must be removed in the Home app.

How Apple Wallet removal normally works

For a standard Wallet pass, the removal flow is short:

1

Open the pass

In Wallet, tap the pass you want to remove.
2

Open Pass Details

Tap the More button, then Pass Details, and look for Remove Pass.
3

Confirm the removal

Tap Remove Pass and confirm. On a paired Apple Watch, the same pass may disappear there too.

If you only see the pass on Apple Watch

Removing a pass from your iPhone may also remove it from your paired Apple Watch. If the pass is easier to find on the watch, use the same pass details there if the option is available.

Why Remove Pass may be missing

Missing buttons usually mean the pass is in a special state, not that Wallet is broken.

The pass is expired and hidden

Some limited or single-use passes are automatically hidden after they expire. Check View Expired Passes before assuming the pass is gone.

The pass is a Home Key

Apple says Home Key cannot be removed from Wallet directly. Use the Home app instead.

The pass type uses different controls

Not every pass shows the same actions in Wallet. Apple notes that available options can vary by pass.

The issuer still controls the source record

If the pass came from an airline, theater, membership app, or similar issuer, the app may still be the place to re-download or manage it.

Apple Wallet does not use one universal delete flow

That is why the missing button is often a sign to look for the pass in a hidden list, a different Apple app, or the issuer's own account flow.

What to check next

Work through these checks in order. They cover the most common reasons the button is missing.

1

Open View Expired Passes

Scroll to the bottom of Wallet, tap View Expired Passes, then look for the pass in the hidden list.
2

Use the correct app

If the pass is a Home Key, open the Home app. If the pass came from a merchant app, open that app or account page and check whether it can be removed there.
3

Look for a different menu

Some passes only show Unhide, Delete, or other issuer-specific actions instead of Remove Pass.
4

Refresh the source

If the pass is managed by an issuer app, sign in again or re-download the pass from the original source if needed.

Do not treat every missing button as a bug

If the pass is expired, hidden, or tied to Home Key, Wallet is behaving as designed. The fix is to use the matching app or the expired-pass list, not to keep tapping the same menu.

How NeatPass fits in

NeatPass does not override Apple's built-in removal rules. It helps when a barcode-based pass needs a cleaner home before it is added to Wallet, or when a pass should be archived instead of thrown away.

For library management, see managing your pass library, learn how to archive passes and keep the original source with view original. Archived passes remain available offline, and the guides on offline mode, adding to Wallet, import methods, and privacy FAQ are the best starting points.

If a pass needs to be recreated later, keeping the source organized is usually easier than depending on Wallet history alone.

A Missing Button Usually Means a Different Flow

Most of the time, the pass is not stuck. It is either hidden in the expired list, managed by the Home app, or governed by the issuer's own app flow.

Once the right place is open, removal is usually quick. If the pass is something you want to keep but not see in Wallet every day, a structured library and archive in NeatPass is often easier to manage than relying on Wallet history.
